These pictures show a condensed sequence of the fabrication stages of the display cabinet.

Starting from the left: the cabinet is assembled without glue to make sure the joints fit correctly. From there the surface of the cross rails are textured using a combination of hand planes. Once all the pieces are textured and sanded, everything is glued together using a variety of clamps and blocks. Finally, after the painting is done (which involves applying and removing multiple layers), and the lighting system is tested, the side slats are installed.
